About the Collection

The Oglethorpe archives had a wealth of beautiful images added to its collection by Edmund Bator (class of '53) and Martha Mayson Bator ('51). The couple, pictured in the top right photograph, donated numerous sleeves of negatives and several wonderful print photographs. During his time at Oglethorpe, Edmund worked as a photographer for the Yamacraw yearbook, and many of the images he donated to the archives appear in the yearbooks. The images offer a rare glimpse into life during the vibrant years of the early 1950s at Oglethorpe.

In addition to the Bator's images, this online collection contains other photographs belonging to the Oglethorpe Archives' Visual Arts collection.
