Course reserves are either located online or can be checked out at the Circulation Desk. Generally, your professor will indicate in your syllabus where the reserve item is located.
E-Reserves are located within Moodle, Oglethorpe’s Intranet. Use your OU network ID and password to login.
Reserve items are organized in folders under your professor’s name. Most e-reserve items consist of journal artilces, book chapters, class notes, and sound files. They are either in PDF, Word, or mp3 format. Depending on the file type, your computer will need a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader, Word, or an mp3 reader in order to read these files. All campus lab computers are equipped with this software.
Sound recordings for French language classes are available on Moodle.
The library does not keep print copies of e-reserve items.
All other reserve items – books, movies, music cds, language tapes, etc. – are available for check out at the Circulation Desk. When asking for a reserve item you will need your professor’s last name and the title or call number of the item.
Most print reserves must be used in the library. Equipment for playing DVDs, CDs and laser discs is available on the second floor. Cassette players and headphones may be checked out, and a photo copier is available near the Circulation Desk.
