Description: The collection contains programs, awards, newspaper articles, letters, articles by and about, pencil drawings of, commencement programs, new science building information, and copies of the Southern Recorder relating to the life and career of Roy N. Goslin. Goslin came to Oglethorpe in 1946 straight from the Manhattan Project. He graduate from Nebraska Western University with a degree in physics and mathematics. He went to graduate school at the University of Illinois and then on to Auburn University to teach. He worked on his Ph.D. at Ohio State University, but did not receive the formal degree because his research work was under security at Oakridge. In 1971, Oglethorpe awarded him an honorary Ph.D. and named Goslin Hall, the new science building, in his honor.
