Many library databases include journal alerts or other current awareness features that allow you to receive current information in your field or areas of interest. Depending on resource options and settings, you can usually set up these services to alert you weekly, monthly or quarterly. You will need to create a free profile with the vendor before taking advantage of current awareness features.

Journal or Table of Contents Alerts Article titles and abstracts can be emailed to you when new issues of a journal become available.
Saved Searches and Search Alerts Create a custom search for a topic or an author that you want to monitor. You can either save the search and run it when you want or set it up to run automatically and email your results.
