Administrative History
James Woodrow, uncle of President Woodrow Wilson, served as one of the earliest instructors on the Oglethorpe University campus when it was located in Midway, near Milledgeville, GA. Woodrow became a close friend of Sidney Lanier, who was a student at Oglethorpe and later one of the most famous poets in the state of Georgia.
